Year: 2022 - 2023

Objective: (1) Identify the advances of the implementation of the National Strategy for Circular Economy in Colombia; (2) Identify concrete opportunities for bilateral cooperation in the priority sectors of the embassy, such as: agriculture, water, mobility, waste and renewable energy; (3) Leverage interest of the newly elected government in a circular economy agenda for 2022 – 2026.

Institutions involved: The Netherlands Agency (RVO) and the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Colombia. Ministries part of the Memorandum of Understanding (Environment, Agriculture and Housing).

Results: Revision of documents and development of over 30 interviews with public, private and academic sector to assess the progress and gaps in circular economy in Colombia in the different sectors. One report on the advances of the National Strategy for Circular Economy in Colombia (NSCE). Mapping of over 10 cases of circular economy in Colombia, the Netherlands and identification of opportunities for bilateral collaboration. 2 workshops to prioritize the opportunities for bilateral collaboration and to gather inputs for the roadmap to promote circular economy.
